Of course the Deer Park Pub is a fun
place to gather with friends and family,
but it's also home to a group of staff
and patrons with a heart for the
surrounding neighborhood and community.
The Deer Park Pub is located in the
Hungry Hill neighborhood. A group of men
who grew up in this area have formed the
Hungry Hill Fraternal Foundation (HHFF)
to help provide food and necessities to
those in need. Members have made the
Deer Park Pub their unofficial
headquarters and commit to making
bi-weekly contributions to the HHFF. As
a group, members take their
contributions and go shopping bi-weekly
for items, particularly non-perishables,
since food stamp recipients aren’t able
to redeem stamps for these particular
commodities. Where the “sales” are -
that’s where the fraternity goes and
then delivers purchased items to area
food banks and elsewhere.
We are grateful for the generosity of
our staff and patrons, and hope that
their good works inspire others to get
involved and help the community!
